Inorganic Objects

I confess that inorganic objects are the least interesting to me, and depending on the object I will sometimes refuse to do it. Simply because they’re too flat or too rigid, that I feel like I’m not able to draw them effectively or interestingly enough, in my style.

That being said, there’s some inorganic objects that work really well too. Usually more rounded or voluptuous and ornate objects work best (like vintage machinery instead of modern). But simple objects like a matchstick are also weirdly satisfying to do, perhaps for their universally easy to recognise shape.

Mixing them with organic objects to give some contrast between the shapes (like adding flowers inside a lightbulb for instance) is also a great idea to add dimension to an otherwise flat inorganic object.

I do enjoy adding some geometric elements to my organic pieces for this same reason too.
